In here, the expressed image is the posture waiting of Jesus to open the front of door in outside. In the Scripture, heaven could be get in doing like a child, then how can be described the image of Jesus in children's minds? In general, the described human-being by 4-5 years old children come out of hands and legs from the round face of head. This is called as the head-leg picture, especially. It can be understood that yet, there are lack of understanding about body. If we separate head and body, head could be the spiritual world and the body could be the physical world. Anyway in the expression of children, the physical body has not been revealed, but hands and legs have been started from head. It should be the expression of pure mind in children. Just heaven is there in the children' pure mind.

The mind of child

opens through the pure and lovely eyes.
The heaven when God created
could include the child' mind and everything
and could take after the fine pupil of the eye.
But, adult paints in false the beautiful mind of children
through learning of skill.
Just, ask to make it as a well painted picture.
Painting is not making,
the daily lives of the pure and lovely children
are to draw like writing a diary.
Adult should not correct the diary of children,
even though the spelling is incorrect and the misuse of words,
the diary of children could be attracted in the incorrect.
From time to time, I look again the diary in my childhood.
Sentences were still in a mess and grammar is not correct.
However, I feel good in the writing still in a mess and incorrect.
One, two, reading them, around my mouth
smile spin round, looking back the time of childhood
absorbed in the memory of that time.
In similar, looking the picture of children
I feel sitting on the fancy express train.
Children go across the river beyond of the imagination of adults
pass by the mountain, to the stars of universe, even up to heaven
draw without hesitation.
Like Jesus said heaven is in children's minds
to possess the imagination in pure and transcendent mind
could be the force ...

그리스도인의 예술관

    ‘그리스도인의 예술’ 이란 주제는 대단히 어려운 논제이다. 이것은 정신적인 면과 생활 실천적 요소가 함께 다루어져야 그 실체가 드러난다. 기독교에서는 특히 십계명 중 제2계명을 문자적으로 해석하여 미술의 회화나 조각을 멀리해 왔던 것이 사실이다. 그러나 성경에서 예술은 하나님의 은사로서 긍정적으로 평가되고 있다. 단지 회화나 조각 예술품이 우상의 대상이 되는 것을 경고하고 있을 뿐이다. 그래서 이글은 성경 상에 나타난 예술에 관하여 서술하고. 이를 통하여 그리스도인으로 하여금 이 예술을 바르게 활용하며 세상을 향한 새로운 삶의 자세를 정립하고자 하는 데 목적을 둔다.

  우주를 절대적 주권 아래 두신 그리스도의 주권은 당연히 예술에도 적응되어야 하며, 그리스도인은 적극적으로 예술 그 자체를 통하여 하나님을 찬양할 수가 있다. 십계명 중 제2계명의 ‘너를 위하여 새긴 우상을 만들지 말고 또 위로 하늘에 있는 것이나, 아래로 땅에 있는 것이나 땅 아래 물속에 있는 것의 무슨 형상이든지 만들지 말며 그것을 섬기지 말라(출20:4-5)’고 절대적으로 우상으로서의 조형 예술 활동을 금하고 있다. 또 ‘너희는 자기를 위하여 우상을 만들지 말지니 목상이나 주상을 세우지 말며 너희 땅에 조각한 석상을 세우고 그에게 경배하지 말라. 나는 너의 하나님 여호화임이니라(레26:1)’이라 했다. 그런데 이 내용을 잘 살펴보면 어떠한 형태를 만들기 위해서 그 목적을 강조함을 알 수 있다. ‘자기를’, ‘너를 위하여’와 같은 그것이다. 즉 하나님이 아닌 인간을 위하여 그것을 만들어 경배하는 것을 절대적으로 금하고 있는 것이다.

  성경 상에서 하나님은 최고의 건축가이며 예술가로 나타나고 있다. 우주의 창조 자체도 그러하지만 모세에게 계시하여 성막 건축가(브살렐)의 재능을 통해 만든 성막 의 구조나 아름다움은 놀라운 예술인 것이다. 그리고 다윗이 계획한 성전의 설계 역시 하나님으로부터 나왔다. ‘다윗이 가로되 이 위의 모든 것의 식양을 여호와의 손이 내게 임하여 그려 나로 알게 하셨느니라(대상 25:19)’ 즉 하나님의 감동으로 건물의 식양(양식, 형식) 을 보여주는 좋은 예라 하겠다. 예수님께서도 직접 인용하신 예술품의  예도 성경에 있다. ‘모세가 광야에서 뱀을 든 것 같이 인자도 들려야 하리라’(요 3:14-15) 놋뱀의 예술품(민 21:9)이 예수 그리스도의 예표임을 지적했다. 그런데 히스기야 왕 때(왕하 18:4) 이스라엘 자손들이 놋뱀을 만들어 분향함으로 부숴 버린 것은 상징적 표현이 경배 대상으로 되었을 때 그것은 바로 우상숭배가 된 것을 말해 준다. 성경에서는 시와 음악도 하나님의 영광을 위해 사용하였다. 예배에 제금, 비파, 수금 등의 악기들이 사용되었다. 춤에 있어서도 선지자 미리암이 소고 치고 춤추는 것(출 15:20), 다윗이 하나님의 법궤를 자기 성으로 옮겨 놓을 때 예복을 입고 힘을 다해 춤을 춘 것을 알 수 있다(삼하 6:14-16), 역사상 가장 오랜 기간 많은 사람에게 읽히고 노래하는 시의 시인은 바로 다윗인데 그는 어려울 때 시를 썼으며(시54:1-7) 그가 양을 지키며 노래하며 연주했던 악기들은 악신에 걸린 사울 왕을 치료하기까지 하였다. 그런데 성경에서는 인류 최초로 금속을 가공하는 기술을 개발함으로 금속을 이용한 인류 문명의 발전에 큰 기여를 한 ‘두발가인’(구리와 쇠를 다루는 대장장이의 시조)에 대한 내용은 간단하게 표현하고 있다. 그것은 인간의 모든 지혜와 기술의 목적이  하나님의 영광을 나타내고 인간 생명의 존엄성을 지켜 나가고, 자연 질서를 유지하는 존엄성을 지켜 나가며, 또한 자연 질서를 유지하는 것이어야 함을 나타내는 것이었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 두발가인은 무력과 파괴, 정복 전쟁의 근원이 된 것이다.(창 4:23-24)

현대에 와서는 흑인의 처절한 노예 생활의 애환이 신앙적 노래로 표현될 때 사람의 심금을 울리는 영가로 발전되었고, 인간적으로 흥분시키고 말초적 자극을 주는 재즈로 변화되었으니 ‘Rock and roll’을 단어풀이 하면 Rock은 ‘흔들어 움직이다’, ‘진동시키다’라는 의미이고 ‘and roll’은 ‘데굴데굴 구르다’라는 성적(sex)인 용어를 그대로 대중음악 형식으로 표현하였으니 이것이 요즘의 ‘랩’(지껄이다)까지 오게 되었다. 그러므로 하나님을 찬양했던[루시퍼]가 자신의 영광을 위하여, 스스로 높아지려고 사탄이  된 것같이 엉뚱한 짓으로 튀려는‘나’ 중심적 우월주의를 예술 표현에서 경계해야 할 것이다.

  그럼 기독교 예술의 주제는 어떠해야 할까? 기독교 예술은 오직 종교적인 예술, 종교적인 주제만을 다루는 것만이 아니라 하나님께서 창조한 창조물이라면 그것을 보고, 느끼고, 또한 자유롭게 표현될 가치가 있는 것이다. 그리스도인은 창작 세계의 범위로 인해 두려워 할 필요는 없다고 본다. 즉 성령의 인도 안에서 그리스도인의 자유를 누려야 한다고 하겠다. ‘진리를 알지니 진리가 너희를 자유케 하리라,’ 그러므로 예술품이 중요한 것이 아니라 절망적인 세상을 향한 참된 진리와 아름다움의 미를 생활 속에 표현하는 그리스도인의 삶 그 자체가 예술인 것이다.

  이 글을 마무리 하면서 결론을 짓고자 한다. 그리스도인의 예술이란 하나님께서 추신 창조적 은사(달란트)를 인간 욕심의 표출이나 하나님의 대신한 경배대상으로 표현하는 것을 절대적으로 금하는 자세 위에서 무한한 창조의 섭리를 베푸신 하나님의 영광을 위해 자유롭게 나타내는 것이다. 그래서 하나님의 지상명령이신 ‘하나님이 너희를 사랑함 같이 너희도 하나님을 사랑하고 네 이웃을 사랑하라’ 하신 그 뜻을 받들어 타락하고 절망적인 세상을 향하여 맑고 밝게 정화시키는 예술품이 예술을 하는 그리스도인 스스로 생활 속에 표현되어서 ‘하늘나라가 땅에서도 이루어지리다’는 기도가 완성되도록 노력하여야 할 것이다.
